Poetry | through her eyes

Hello, dear readers. It’s been a while, hasn’t it?

In July of this year, I gave birth to the sweetest little girl and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Being her mom is such a privilege & joy. This poem is about her and how healing it is to watch the man you married love & cherish his little girl.

through her eyes

There is something healing

About watching the man you love

Love the baby you made

First born daughter

Reborn again

To see yourself in her

And your own father in him

And realize she’ll never have to

Fight for love

The way he holds her

Speaks to her

Cares so tenderly

It is like being a child

Again

And all the things that wounded you

Never got a chance to
