Inside the Life of a Crazy Writer

Goodness! It has been quite a while since I last sat down to write a blog post. Between camp, a broken finger, and editing my novel, life has just gotten crazy. So I’m now taking the opportunity to delve into what’s been going on in my life.

First, my novel! It is almost done being edited and then it’s publication time! Publishing one of my stories has always been a dream of mine and now it’s so close. There are a few small details I need to work out, but in the meantime, it’s been a lot of work trying to get everything to fit together.

Second, summer! I can’t believe it is practically over already, though I can’t say I’m too disappointed. I’ve always been something of a cold weather girl, so bring on the snow! Still, it has been a fun time filled with tons of swimming, food, hanging out with friends, and hours of sitting behind my computer editing (okay, so maybe that last one isn’t so fun, but still!).

Lastly, my journey of discovering that editing a novel is MUCH harder than I initially anticipated. I’m almost sick of it after the fourth read-through. Almost, but not quite. It has been eye-opening to see how much thought goes into making a novel the best it can be. While challenging, it has been a great learning experience!
