My Writing

New Year, New Goals, Same Old Me

Hello, wonderful readers! As some of you might have seen in my newsletter, I have several goals for the new year. Am I writing this in the middle of January? Yes, but let’s not focus on that right now.

Rose’s Ruin released at the end of last year to much reader enjoyment! It brings me so much joy to know that people enjoyed reading the story as much as I enjoyed writing it. And with that, I now really need to focus on the last book in the series, Rose’s Reign. In the spirit of total honesty, I’ve never actually written a sequel before. All of my previous novels (or attempts) have never made it to a second book. So, writing Rose’s Reign is a bit intimidating for me. I now have to consider character growth in a way that I never have before. However, it also excites me!

I am especially excited to develop Verre’s story. She’s the first assassin character that I’ve written and she is truly a fan favorite. Sometimes I wonder if readers’ favorites mirror my own because of how I write them. Probably something I should work on then, haha! I also have some BEAUTIFUL art of her & Baen that I can’t wait to share later on.

To end this post, I’ll summarize the three projects that I’m focusing on this year:

VANITAS

A newsletter-exclusive short story featuring a scientist named Perseus who must decide if we really get to make our own truth.

Rose’s Reign

The final installment to the Rose’s War series will have the first draft complete by the end of this year!

Of Sails and Souls

A pirate tale featuring siblings bonds, sirens, and bloody, swashbuckling fights. I’m so excited!
