My Writing

First Draft: Complete!

Good afternoon, wonderful readers!

I am happy to (finally) announce that the first draft of Rose’s Ruin is complete! It’s take a couple years getting here, but the relief is immeasurable, haha!

Now that the first part is done, I’m hoping to really get the ball rolling on everything else! I honestly prefer the editing process to the initial writing–it’s much easier to pace out in my opinion. So, here’s to hoping that Rose’s Ruin will be published by summertime!

I’m already planning some fun goodies and giveaways, so be on the lookout. My books will be sporting NEW covers this year; ones I actually made myself. Not gonna lie, I’m in LOVE with them and hope you will be too!

I also plan on opening up some commission graphic work for fellow indie authors. Not sure when that will go *live* but I feel I’m at a point in graphic design where I can confidently do commissions. I plan to keep my costs low and my availability limited, but I’m hoping to use this as a way to help authors on a budget while also growing my own skill.

In other news, I’ve been reading a lot more. With my haphazard schedule, there’s a few books I alternate but I’m enjoying them all!

I’ve been working through the short stories of Voices of the Future, an anthology produced by the Author Conservatory. So far, Obsidian Wings by Madigan Thompson is my favorite!

I’m rereading an old favorite–Sherlock Holmes. I have all his stories compiled into two HUGE sets, so I’m working through the first one. My goodness, though! Holmes & Watson, while products of the time, are startlingly racist at times.

My newest book I’ve purchased is Even if He Doesn’t by Kristen LaValley and it’s a deep & riveting read.

Lastly, I’m also slowing reading through The Hope of Glory by Sam Storms, a devotional on Colossians.

Well, that’s it, friends. What have you been reading?
